Editorial policy
How we choose sources, grade evidence, handle dosing, separate money from editorial, and correct errors.
What we publish.
We publish education. We do not publish medical advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation to use any compound.
Where our facts come from.
We use four source types, in this order:
- 01Regulator documents. These are FDA labels, EMA decisions, and national agency notices.
- 02Primary literature indexed in PubMed, with a DOI or a PMID.
- 03Trial registrations on ClinicalTrials.gov.
- 04The WADA Prohibited List.
We do not use a vendor page, a forum post, or an unattributed summary as a source for a scientific claim.
How we grade evidence.
We use three grades. Established means large human trials support the main claim and a regulator approved the compound. Moderate means human data exist, and the trials are small, regional, incomplete, or negative. Emerging means animal or cell data only.
We grade on the evidence, not on the popularity. We publish negative trial results next to positive ones for the same compound.
How we handle dosing.
We publish label dosing for approved medicines only. For every other compound we state that no high-authority human dosing exists. We do not publish community dose figures, because no clinical source supports them.
How we separate money from editorial.
We take no paid placement in the vendor rankings. We name no vendor inside an evidence profile. Vendor scores link to a public certificate of analysis. If we cannot see the certificate, we do not score the vendor.
How we correct errors.
Tell us about an error through the contact page. We check it against the primary source. When we change a fact, we change the review date on the page and we say what changed.
Who checks the science.
A named reviewer checks every profile. The name, the qualification, and the review date appear at the top of each page. Read who checks this.
