Contract manufacturers
Companies that manufacture medicines for other companies.
A contract manufacturer makes a medicine that another company sells. The name on the box is often not the name of the maker.
A manufacturer that supplies the United States registers its site with the FDA. The FDA gives the site an identifier.
We record the registered site and the identifier.
The FDA register does not say which product a site makes. It lists more than five thousand United States sites, and most of them make industrial chemicals or animal feed. So we do not copy that list. We show a company here when it also appears in another register we use, which tells us the company works with the products this site covers.
